Last Saturday I had the pleasure of being joined by about 30 amazing singers and musicians to record my latest EP.
The aim of this EP is to make songs for the church in Scotland that are stylistically Scottish in their melody, lyrics and form, and they are all written so they don’t require instruments to accompany them to be used.
This means that we enable almost anyone in the church to be able to lead these songs whether they play an instrument or not.
I've been thinking a lot recently about the Psalms and all 6 of the tracks are based on the book of psalms, covering psalms 13 (How long o Lord), 51 (Have mercy on me), 67 (Let the people praise you), 84 (One day), 136 (Give thanks to God), and 145 (I will praise my God and king).
All of these were recorded live with audio and video on location at St Margarets Episcopal Church in Glasgow's south side.
More to follow, but for now here's a clip of us learning and recording Psalm 67
